Artist's statement:
Like a crow, I am attracted to shiny things and bright colors. I have been playing with glass, fire and color for most of my life. I was one of the first three women in the country to build and run my own full-time glass hot shop. I have explored stained, fused, leaded and blown glass before beginning beadmaking.
Working with molten glass I am able to play with light, color and the alchemy of fire. I love being part of a lineage of beadmakers that is 40,000 years old. I enjoy creating works reminiscent of the forms and styles of classic pieces, while taking advantage of the many modern materials and tools available to contemporary artists.
My jewelry has been selected for sale at the prestigious Museum of Glass in Tacoma, WA and for the last seven years I have been one of the the top selling artists in my cooperative gallery in Port Townsend, WA.
